There have been many celebrations pertaining to On Avalon projects in the past few weeks! Storefronts have been renovated, the community gathered for Wilmington’s Second Annual Art Walk, and Gaby Medina’s was honored at an LA-Mas event!
The On Avalon team has been busy this past month! July kicked-off with the LA-Más designers meeting with six businesses that will receive exterior design support for their storefronts. The design will be completed by the end of month with construction to start in September! We also provided over 10 businesses with technical assistance, hosted a legal workshop for commercial tenants, and organized a community event on Avalon Boulevard.

It was another beautiful evening in Wilmington, with the Chamber of Commerce’s annual holiday mixer setting the stage for the unveiling of the draft On Avalon Project Roadmap. Marking the end of the first phase of the On Avalon project, the unveiling provided the community a first glimpse at the plans taking shape from the efforts of the past six months.
Join LA-Más & CD15 at the Wilmington Chamber of Commerce’s annual holiday mixer as we present the On Avalon Project Roadmap! This is a community-informed action plan that outlines new projects along Avalon Boulevard to be implemented in 2015 and beyond.

A crisp fall evening last week marked the inaugural Wilmington Art Walk. Although days are getting shorter and nights are getting cooler, it seems that Avalon Boulevard is only getting brighter and more vibrant. With children making arts and crafts, local and extremely talented artisans selling their artwork and goods, visitors enjoying local food trucks, and out-of-towners discovering what Wilmington has to offer, Avalon Boulevard was bustling with people, energy and cheer.
